Besides her unique voice that unites the modern pop music and legendary crystal clear pitch of Billy Holiday and Eartha Kitt, Alice is an extraordinarily gifted songwriter, lyricist and performer.
Alice Francis is a true cosmopolitan, with the roots in two continents. No wonder that exactly during the travels she met her longtime stage partner Goldielocks. After the meeting with the multi-instrumentalist and producer in a jazz bar in Mimizan, France, they have performed together in numerous legendary jam sessions in Goldie`s bohemian commune. Quite soon, they realized that in a collaboration they could create something bigger and more powerful, than working on their own.
Without questioning Josephine Baker, traditions of Charleston and jazz expressions of the 1920s, compositions created by Alice and Goldie extend the blatant borders of the retro chic. The sound of the roaring twenties in an arrangement of the digital opportunities of the 21st century.
