“On May 4th 2016, the audience experienced a celebration of musical love and freedom uniting the centuries – ancient knowledge of folk songs, contemporary sound and mind blowing future dreams, presented in the art of video and lighting”, told the founder of the band Ainārs Majors. However, the saxophonist Uģis Vītiņš acknowledges that he “finds a deep value in the world of music, the value that doesn’t change, the one you want to keep tight and not ever let go”. Music band ElektroFolk reveals that during the process of creation, the band itself has created an ideal creative union, which can clearly be noticed through the original compositions. “Our hearts stay tightly connected to our deepest roots. The world music is also related to the roots of the folk music, however, maybe sometimes not clarified, this being Latvian or other nation we are strongly connected to through our ancient roots or feelings.”
The Embassy of Latgale GORS has not been chosen as the concert venue with no reason. In 2015, music band ElektroFolk did receive Latgalian Culture Award “Boņuks 2014” for their first music album “Elektro” in the category “Best Performance in Folk Music”. In addition to that, band has received Latvian Music Record Award “ZELTA MIKROFONS” for their achievements in the nomination “For the Best Folk or World Music Album”.
