On Lāčplēsis Day, November 11, during a solemn ceremony in Rezekne city, the Prime Minister and other Ministers presented five prizes of Cabinet of Ministers for a significant and outstanding service for the growth of Latvia country – democratic and juridical Latvia.
One of the highest awards of the Government of Latvia Republic – the award of the Cabinet of Ministers – in the year 2014 was given to:
Academic collection of articles "Latvians and Latvia" editorial board: Ilga Jansone, Tālavs Jundzis, Viktors Hausmanis, Maija Kūle, Andrejs Vasks and Guntis Zemītis for significant contribution to the establishment of inter-disciplinary lettonica and a compilation of a four-volume academic collection of articles "Latvians and Latvia".
For remarkable input in Latvian professional music industry and achievements in the international context – for Latvia Radio Choir and State Chamber Orchestra „Sinfonietta Rīga”.
Choreographer, the leader of the folk dance ensemble „Zelta Sietiņš”, dance art educator, film industry worker Baiba Rasma Šteina, for an outstanding contribution to the dance art, the conservation of the Song and Dance Festival tradition and its passing to the next generations, for professional work in the film industry.
Film Director, Dzintra Geka-Vaska for the contribution of many years to the research of the life stories of Latvian citizens deported to Siberia during the years 1941 to 1949, and it`s reflection in Latvia and far abroad.
Deputy Head of the State Police Rīga Region Administration, the Head of Regulatory Police Administration, Colonel Aleksandrs Bukēvičs for an exemplary and professional work, and a significant contribution to public order and security.
