„Pērkons" still keeps carrying on the national self-confidence and still sounds like they did in `80`s, when rock was holding the nation to the hope. More than thirty years ago in one of the midnights, Ieva Akuratere had a dream, that the newly created music band should be named “Pērkons” (the Thunder) and the lightning of this “Pērkons”, gardens and some romantic rain hit the target and is still doing that even today. The band “Pērkons” performed perform on the stage of the Embassy of Latgale GORS for the very first time.
„Pērkons” is probably the most titled music band in Latvia – two Three - Star Order Officers – Ieva Akuratere has also received the medal of the “Draudzīgā Aicinājuma Fonds” and Juris Kulakovs who is also the Honor Citizen of Livani city. Three of them are the Honor Citizens Jurmala city and all of them – have received the Barricades Remembrance Medals.
Music band „Pērkons” will offer to their listeners the songs loved by the public and collected during their creative work, including „Zaļā dziesma”, „Slidotava”, „Labu vakar”, „Dziesma par sapumpuroto zaru”, „Gandrīz tautasdziesma”, „Mana dienišķā dziesma” and many other.
„Pērkons“ had performed in the band`s full composition – Juris Kulakovs (keyboard), Juris Sējāns (bass, vocal), Leons Sējāns (solo guitar), Ieva Akuratere (vocal), Raimonds Bartašēvics (vocal) and Ikars Ruņģis (drums).
