“I can surely say that with this opera my career as a composer has started” expressed Giuseppe Verdi. In 1840 after the death of his both children and wife, Vergi got in deep depression. Only after two years, in 1842, overcoming the crisis, composer got focused on work again and created Nabucco. The resounding triumph after the performance of Nabucco, Verdi`s era of fame and glory has started.
In the stage version of Nabucco by LNO is based on the philosophic concept of time. The time theme can be experienced in the visual solution of the performance – that is the course of the sun, the course of life circles, the course of sky directions… But over everything, lays the judgment and evaluation of Supreme Power of our actions, thoughts and works.
Performance was created in Latvian National Opera in 1996. The play was advanced in 2010.
