After a longer intermission virtuoso romance performer, meritorious Russian stage artist Oleg Pogudin will delight again the audience of Latvia. This beloved singer this time will perform with the program “The Most Beautiful Russian Romances and Songs” together with a chamber music group.
In 1997 musician received the title “Angel`s Eye of Russia” and “Angel Trumpetist”. Pogudin is the laureate of the artistic prize “For the Understanding of the Russian Romance” and has gained a title of the Meritorious Artist of Russia in 2004.
One of the Petersburg`s radio stations has awarded the artist with an unofficial status of the Silver Voice. Pogudin was resisting at first, but as you can say, “spilled water could not be gathered”, the news spreaded all across the media. The owner of the status of Silver Voice Oleg Pogudin tells that he did not choose the romance, it chose him. “Even when I was a child I deeply felt my native language and I sung romances as “Shine, shine my star”, “Rider do not race the horses”. Romance is an air that I breathe every single day. Other directions in the genre of lyric songs – to be Vertinsky or Okudzhava, French or Italian – that is a serious job, to delve in to the special style and character.”
Oleg Pogudin has his own audience whom the melody and the poesy are equally important. This artist turns an idea created by heart into a musical character. Every performance is an unrepeatable meeting in a dialogue about the meaning of the existence.
