Six Latvian composers have created the Potato Opera – unique, colorful and witty original composition for children, revealing the story based in music on facts by Inese Zandere about the journey of potato. The musical story of Lolita Ritmane, Evija Skuķe, Rihards Dubra, Līga Celma-Kursiete, Mārtiņš Brauns and Andris Sējāns will be performed by the specially invited team for this concert program – soloists Evita Zālīte, Juris Vizbulis, Annija Putniņa, Ivars Cinkuss, Jānis Strazdiņš and others, Riga Dom Girl Choir TIARA and KO Orchestra.
On the stages across Latvia the characters of the concert program will appear in images, lights and movements, designed by the director of the production Margo Zālīte, the designers of set and costumes Liene Dobrāja, Ineta Sipunova and Oskars Dreģis, choreographer Alberts Kivlenieks and conductor Aira Birziņa.
The journey of the little Potato to Andes Mountains in South America, from the castles to the countryside of Latvia, is colorful, adventurous, and full with occurrences. Yes, it is a little scary, but a real journey has to be like that, hasn`t it?
