„Raxtu Raxti” – Latvian concert tour „I Found the Folk Song”.
Musical union „Raxtu Raxti” goes on the Latvian tour in the beginning of 2015. They offer the listeners wide musical program in tone of truly Latvian and national sounds.
„Raxtu Raxti” concert program is created of compositions by Imants Kalniņš with sound that is folk music alike as well as new compositions of an original music.
The music created by the musical union can be described as a professional, heartfelt performance, passion, and courage to experiment with different instruments of the ethno music that way conferring the well-known songs with a brand new sound.
Musical union „Raxtu Raxti” was founded more than two years ago as a side project of the band “Autobuss debesīs”, when they started to play together with artists of the folk music. At the beginning, the repertoire was formed mostly of the compositions in a sound of folk music by Imants Kalniņš. Later the repertoire was enriched with other compositions and versions of Latvian folk songs.
During the last two years, musical union „Raxtu Raxti” has successfully performed at traditional music celebration of Imants Kalniņš “Imantdienas” in Cesis and at other large-scale concerts.
The debut of the continuous concert experience was in autumn of 2014 when “Raxtu Raxti” had their first concert in Concert Hall “Riga” on November 18. It received undivided sympathy and rapturous reviews of the public.
In the music, „Raxtu Raxti” uses traditional instruments of Latvian folk music as well as ethno instruments of the world music, that way creating the unique sound characteristic only to itself.
„Raxtu Raxtu” members are Kristīne Kārkle – Puriņa (voice, violin, kokle), Marts Kristiāns Kalniņš (voice, harmonium, keyboard, oboe), Edgars Kārklis (voice, bagpipes, accordion, pipe), Kārlis Auzāns (cello, mandolin, guitar, bouzouki), Armands Treilihs (voice), Artis Orubs (drums, percussion).
