Belarus State Academic Musical Theatre (Белорусский государственный академический музыкальный театр) performance "Shalom Aleichem" ("Шалом Алейхем! Мир вам, люди!") has been based on the performance “Memorial Prayer” of the play "Milk Carrier Tevje" ("Тевье-молочник").
The action takes place in the Russian pre-revolutionary Jewish village Anatovka. The village has been inhabited by Russians, Ukrainians and Jewish for long years. They all lived together, worked together, they only died in separate cemeteries. That is the tradition! In the village also lived the tailor Motel, Fedja the writer and milk carrier Tevje. They all had five daughters, two cows, an old horse, as well as the hope to marry their daughter into the families that will get them out of the poverty.
