On 15th April 2016, in the Embassy of Latgale GORS was event of International Baltic Ballet Festival – flamenco performance “Carmen”.
Dance performance “Carmen” is presented by Spanish Flamenco Company „Flamenco Agency”. The choreography produced by Manolo Marin in a close collaboration with the music by Bizet is an outstanding, fully blooded flamenco of Andalusia. After the debut in the German National Opera in Berlin, the show has been performed in numerous different theatres of the world level.
The well know story of Jorge Bizet opera and the music of flamenco makes this performance colorful and full of life. The story line tells about a naive soldier Don Hose, whose heart has been captivated by the fiery gypsy Carmen. Despite the fact that Hose gives up his youth love and deserts from the army for the love of Carmen, she chooses instead the handsome toreador Escamillo. Overtaken by the jealousy, Hose kills Carmen.
