On 27th May, 2017 the Embassy of Latgale GORS invited the godfather of both fortepianos Vestard Shimku to celebrate it’s 4th anniversary. In honor of the event, Vestards prepered a new concert program. The leading motive of the concert program was the film music. The first part of the concert presented the compositions of Janis Ivanonvs, Peteris Vasks, Philip Gass, as well as of Vestard Shimkus himself. However, the second part of the concert revealed the world known masterpieces composed by John Williams, Yann Tiersen, Harold Arlen, Hans Zimmer, and Astor Piazzolla, resounding themes of some very well-known movies, as “Harry Potter”, “Amelia”, “The Wizard of Oz”, “Mission Impossible”, and many others.
